It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Avelin “Al” Gallien on September 29, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. Born in St. Simon, NB, on March 29, 1934, he was the son of the late Willie and Emma (Mallet) Gallien.
He will be greatly missed by his spouse Simone Marie (LeBlanc) Gallien; daughters Anna Brinson (Garry) and Gisele Heins (Danny McDonald); grandchildren Jessica Heins and Ian Gallant; great-grandchildren Jonathon and Luka Gallant; brother Livain Gallien; sister Therese Lanteigne; brother- in-law André Ouellet, as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Al is predeceased by son Eddie Gallien as well as sisters Elisabeth Mallet and Carmen Ouellet.
A private Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that the Cormier and Bainbridge family announce the passing of Susan Mary (Bainbridge) Cormier on October 1st, 2020 in Kellowna, BC at the hospital due to a Brain Anerysm.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Donald Cormier of 41 years; daughter Kristina; son Kyle; and grandson Dylan all of Kellowna, BC. She will also be missed by her mother Georgina Bainbridge of Dieppe; sisters Sherry and Kim both of Riverview, Gail (Rob) of Cole Harbour, NS, and Donna (Dave) of Dartmouth, NS.
She was predeceased by her daughter Amanda; grandson Logan; father Roderick Keith Bainbridge; and brother Jeffery.
She worked at Tim Hortons and the Moncton City Hospital in Moncton, NB, before moving to Kellowna, BC where she was working as a caregiver. She will be sadly missed by many people especially Jesse who she took care of for 10 years. She loved sewing, making quilts, and camping.
Susan will be laid to rest at a later date at Fair Haven Cemetery in Moncton, NB with her daughter Amanda and grandson Logan.

Jean “Pecker” LeBlanc, 61, of Shediac, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Robichaud, he was the son of the late Henri and Ida (Donelle) LeBlanc.
He is survived by his spouse, Claudette Léger; two step-sons: Kevin Léger (Brigitte) of St-André-LeBlanc and Brian of Shediac; four sisters: Juliette Melanson (Guy) and Yvonne Melanson all of Cormier-Village, Georgette Léger (Danny Blackett) and Edith Blacklock (Charles) all of Grand-Barachois; a brother-in-law, Valmond Cormier of Shediac; four step-grandchildren: Chanelle, Randy, Julien and Jasmine; one step-great-grandson, Ethan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a step-son, Danny and a sister, Gisèle Cormier.
A private funeral service will be held at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Thursday, October 8, 2020. The funeral mass will be recorded and the video will be available on his obituary on our website by the end of the day. Interment will be in St-Henri de Barachois cemetery, Grand-Barachois.
In memory of Jean, a contribution to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Mrs. Mary Ann Louise Birney (Flanders) wife of the late Paul E. Birney of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully into the arms of her precious Savior, and surrounded by her family, Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the age of 86. Mary Ann was born to parents Alma (Albert) Flanders and Hubert Miles Flanders on November 9, 1933 in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick.
She worked as a Nursing Supervisor at the Victoria Public Hospital and transitioned to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital as a Service Co-ordinator where she left a legacy of caring for people and had a great work ethic. She is remembered by her colleagues for her tenacity and ability to work in a “crazy busy” environment while always finding something to laugh about. Mary Ann loved nature and her heart belonged to God, her family and Harvey Lake. She loved the cottage and spent every summer there.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Susan George; her son, Peter Birney (Cecilia); three grandchildren, Allison Taylor (Bobby), Adam Bates and Maggie Birney; her two great-grandchildren Jase and Nova Taylor; her sister-in-law Patricia Flanders and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Harold, Clayton and Marcus; her sisters, Patricia, Charlene and Shirley.
A Celebration of Life will take place at her home church, HopeCity Church, 429 Clements Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 at 11 am with the Rev. Joe Beesley officiating. Covid19 protocol and restrictions will be in effect. A private burial will follow.
Special thanks to all of the Staff of York Care Centre who cared for our Mom during the last few years of her life.

Stella passed away October 4th, 2020 after a lengthy illness and thus complications at the Moncton Hospital. She was 94 years young.
Stella was predeceased by her husband John James Pye Paige; father Robert Wesley Laird and her mother Lorena Jane LeFurgey; brothers Henry Laird-Salomon and Charlie; sisters Greta and Charlotte; two great grandchildren Timothy and Isaac Richardson.
She is survived by her four loving children Beverly (Terry) of Upper Coverdale, Donna (David) of Moncton, James (Cindy) of Riverview, and Debbie (Todd) of Alberta. Stella will also be very much missed by her grandchildren Tammy (Joe), Todd (Olivia), Jason (Jody), RJ, and John (Martine); many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to Tammy who helped her aunt Bev take such excellent care of her grandmother so many times. Also a special thanks to James, Donna, Debbie, and all of the grandchildren; great grandchildren for all of their support over the years.
Stella loved being Scottish and enjoyed going to the Scottish games. She also loved Nascar racing always picking the most controversial drivers like Rusty Wallace, Tony Steward, and recently Kyle Bush. Her most favorite driver being her son-in-law Terry. Stella also loved knitting and family gatherings. She will be sadly missed by her family but will be with them in spirit.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joan Elizabeth Armstrong, age 82, announces that she passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020 at her residence in New Line, NB. She is the wife of Curtis Armstrong and daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (McFarlane) Walker.
Joan was a former employee of Pearson Insurance. She was a very active member of the Sussex Community, being involved in several organizations. A faithful member of the St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner.
Joan is survived by her husband Curtis of 50 years; sister-in-law Edith Armstrong of Salisbury, NB; nieces: Dianne (Wes) Lawson of Riverview, NB, Gail (Brent) McLeod of Salisbury, NB; nephews: David (Faye) Armstrong of Petitcodiac, NB, Ron Armstrong of Second North River, NB, the late Wayne (Brenda) Armstrong of Petitcodiac, NB; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruth Armstrong; brothers-in-law Ralph Armstrong, Lloyd Armstrong, Alton Armstrong; and great nephew Joel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506) 433-1176, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Mary Kathleen (Howe) Raymond, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at Bridgeview Hall, on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the age of 90. Born in Nerepis, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Sell) and Cyril Howe.
She was a homemaker and spent many years volunteering with the SPCA.
Mary is survived by her two daughters Lois Raymond of Miramichi and Linda LaBerge of Napan; three grandchildren Sandra Bruce and special grandson-in-law Gregg Bruce of Miramichi, Matthew Janes (Stephanie) of Saint John, and Melanie McCarthy (David) of PEI; great-grandson George Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gordon Raymond; stepmother Joyce Howe; daughter Janet Janes; son-in-law Dan LaBerge; sister Carolyn Greer; and brother Fred Howe.
At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Claude passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 with his loving daughter, Monique, by his side. Born in Moncton on June 4th, 1934, he was the son of the late Germaine Bourgeois and Valerie Leblanc and later step-son to Fred Bourgeois, all of Moncton.
Claude was an avid sports fan and a natural at everything he played, he particularly enjoyed billiards, bowling and horseshoes. He had a gentle spirit that endeared him to all, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Evangeline Leblanc (née Arsenault), his daughter Monique Donovan (Dale), son Paul Leblanc (Maureen), stepdaughter Kathy Knight (Ken), sisters Chantal and Yvonnette Bourgeois, brother Raymond Bourgeois, grandchildren Megan (Bailey Huber), Justin (Lisa), Maurgan, Colin, Brandi Avery (Matthew), April and great-grandchildren Aria, Aiden and Brooklyn.
Claude was predeceased by his first wife Bernadette (née Gauvin), sisters Aline and Josie, brother Gillis, and stepsons David and Raymond.
Honouring Claude’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe at a later date.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff in the palliative care unit at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre for all of their support and care.
