Obituary for James Murray
James “Jim” A. Murray, 69, of Moncton, passed away peacefully within the comforts of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late James and Edith (Clements) Murray.
James was the proud owner/operator of Spring Specialty Ltd. where he loved his work life and being around the shop. He was a proud supporter of his family, especially his grandchildren and their sporting events (hockey and ringette). He loved spending his summers at Murray Corner, tending to his flower garden, travelling and creating new memories with Monique.
James will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Monique Murray (Cormier); sons, Chris Murray (Amanda) and Tim Murray (Jill) both of Moncton; grandchildren, Aisley, Liam, Teagan, Tahlia and Matty; sister, Catherine Dede (Kenneth Hopper); brothers, Rodney Murray (Anita), Stephen Murray (Cindy) and Alan Murray; sister-in-law, Esther; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Matthew (1990); and his brothers, Gerald and Mike.
James’ family would like to thank the doctors who took such good care of him during his illness – Dr. Sylvie LeBlanc, Dr. Neil Dwyer (Danielle) and Dr. Mahmoud Abdelsalam, and the team of Extra Mural Nurses, Driscoll Unit, especially Andrea.
A private family Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. A Celebration of James’ life will be held at a later date. Funeral Mass will be recorded and available to be viewed on the funeral home website on July 21, 2020.
