Obituary for Roméo Hébert

1930 – 2019
Roméo Hébert, 88 of Bouctouche, went peacefully to join our mother Edmée Pellerin (2014) on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Michel and the late Sara (Cormier) Hébert.

Pillar of society, Roméo worked very hard for the youth. He was a founder of the minor hockey, the «Forum» arena and conseil récératif. It was previously announced that he will be inducted to the sports wall of fame of the Town of Bouctouche on March 30th, of this year.

He will be sadly missed by his six children; Anise Hollies (Dick) of Long Point, Murielle Hébert (Brian Clarke) of Moncton, Charles (Denise) of Saint-Paul, Guy (Janice) of Bouctouche, Claude (Léona) of Saint-Antoine, Michel (Dianne) of Memramcook and a daughter-in-law; Marie-Paule Pellerin of Bouctouche, his 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his former daughter-in-law Diane LeBlanc-Maillet and former son-in-law Ted Cormier as well as his sister Marie-Louise Bourque of Cocagne, his brother Harry of Moncton and several nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his son Donald Pellerin (March 3, 2019), his daughter-in-law Michelle, one sister Jeannine and four brothers; Willie, Raymond, Hervé and Joe (March 5, 2019).

Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’Église, Bouctouche, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.

In Roméo’s memory, donations may be made to the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital Foundation.
